Shaanxi is a major province in West China. As one of the birthplace of Chinese civilization, it has long history brilliant culture and colorful folk arts. She Huo, folk art performance given on traditional or religious festivals, is a chief form of folk art especially popular in the rural areas.

School of Shoaling Monastery

The martial arts tradition of the Shoaling monastery is more than 1,500 years old. According to the legend, it was started by Bodhidharma, a Buddhist patriarch from India, who taught his followers exercises and energy gymnastics that is commonly known now as the Shoaling Qigong.
